ARCHITECTURE / EDUCATION

Seán McArdle's educational background includes Post Graduate Studies at the College of Environmental Design (CED) at the University of California, Berkeley in Architecture and Real Estate Design + Development (MRED+D) focused on cutting-edge design to build sustainable, equitable, and prosperous cities. Seán has a Master’s and a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture Design & Development Business. 

A transformative year in his architectural education was his participation in the Vicenza Institute of Architecture (VIA) Program based in Vicenza, Italy, a travel-intensive program that recognizes the importance of the physical experience of the latest innovations in architectural design and evaluating and understanding the historical, social, cultural and physical aspects of this particularly rich European urban context through design, research, and, documentation.

DESIGN / MAKING

In addition to architecture, Seán McArdle has pursued intensive postgraduate Fine Arts training in the classical methods of drawing and marble sculpture. Seán's passion is drawing inspiration from innovative work made by architects and artists, which has enriched our built environment, artistic consciousness, and collective future.

ARTS + ARCHITECTURE

Seán founded Arts + Architecture [A+A] an international education travel program focused on the allied arts of architecture, drawing, painting, and sculpture. This travel and studio intensive program recognizes the long-standing tradition and value of the physical experience of travel and drawing research as an integral part of a designer’s education. In short, we call it Drawing Inspiration.

The A+A program focuses on evaluating and understanding the historical, social, cultural, and physical aspects of this particularly rich urban European context through design, research, and, documentation. Field trips throughout Italy and Europe further enhance your educational experience.
